Falcons cornerback A.J. Terrell has been named the Atlanta Falcons’ club winner for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, highlighting his contributions to the local community.
Despite being considered one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL, Terrell has not yet appeared in a Pro Bowl. Voting is now open for the 2026 Pro Bowl Games, and there is growing support for his inclusion based on his performance this season.
Terrell’s statistics through Week 13 demonstrate why he stands out among NFC cornerbacks with at least 300 coverage snaps. He has been targeted only 35 times—the fewest among this group—and leads in both receptions allowed (20) and yards allowed (200). His average of 0.6 yards allowed per snap ties him for first place in that category within the conference.
Although Terrell does not have an interception this season, he is one of just two NFC corners with at least 300 coverage snaps who have not allowed a touchdown in their coverage assignments. He also holds the record for most coverage snaps played without surrendering a touchdown among NFC players at his position.
One notable performance came during Atlanta’s Week 6 victory over the Buffalo Bills, where Terrell limited Buffalo’s leading receiver Keon Coleman to just two catches for eight yards on four targets and recorded two pass breakups.
Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney commented on Terrell’s abilities: “I love going against A.J. He’s a dominant player. He does make it very difficult.”
