Rep. Andrew Clyde, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 9th district since 2021, has recently shared his perspectives on pressing issues through social media. Clyde, born in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada in 1963 and currently residing in Athens, highlighted topics including crime rates in Washington D.C., support for former President Trump’s policies, and legislative processes.
On July 2, Rep. Clyde addressed concerns regarding crime rates in the nation’s capital with a post stating “Heartbreaking. D.C.’s crime crisis continues to devastate innocent Americans. Congress must take action to restore law and order in our nation’s capital.”
The following day, July 3, he expressed strong alignment with former President Trump’s political agenda by posting “I fully support President Trump’s agenda, 100%. Throughout this process, I have fought to improve the One Big Beautiful Bill in order to deliver as many conservative and fiscally responsible wins for the American people as possible. As an ardent defender of our Second Amendment”
Later that same day, Clyde questioned another political figure’s stance with a direct comment on Twitter: “What gives, Hakeem? Enough. Let’s get on to passing the One Big Beautiful Bill!”
Clyde holds degrees from several institutions including a BA from the University of Notre Dame (1985), a BBA from Bethel University (1985), and further education at the University of Georgia (1999).
