Rep. Andrew Clyde, a U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 9th district since 2021, posted a series of statements on his social media account on February 25, 2026, addressing issues related to financial freedom, government priorities, and election standards.
In one post at 2:48 a.m. UTC, Clyde wrote: “Financial freedom is KEY to the American Dream. President Trump is investing in our nation’s future. Visit https://t.co/z8dKksJIMU to learn more! “
Later that morning at 3:08 a.m. UTC, he expressed support for former President Donald Trump’s stance on government responsibility: “President Trump is 100% correct: ‘The first duty of the government is to PROTECT American citizens—NOT illegal aliens.'”
At 3:19 a.m. UTC, Clyde commented on identification requirements in Congress and elections: “Every solitary Member of Congress had to show photo ID in order to take their seats… If it’s the standard in the United States Capitol, it should be the standard in American elections.”
Clyde has maintained his seat through several election cycles, defeating Tambrei Cash in the 2024 general election with approximately 69% of the vote; Michael Ford in 2022 with about 72.4%; and Devin Pandy in 2020 with roughly 78.6%. He succeeded Doug Collins as representative for Georgia’s 9th district and currently resides in Athens after being born in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada in 1963.
