Rep. Andrew Clyde, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 9th district since 2021, shared his perspectives on recent political developments through a series of tweets. Born in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada in 1963, Clyde now resides in Athens and has an educational background from the University of Notre Dame and Bethel University.
On May 16, 2025, Clyde commented on former FBI Director James Comey’s actions: “After posting and deleting a threat against President Trump, Comey is now trying to play dumb. This evil and utterly shameless stunt will have consequences.”
Later that day, Clyde emphasized the importance of strengthening the budget reconciliation package to align with America First priorities: “We must strengthen the budget reconciliation package to ensure we fulfill ALL of our America First priorities to the American people. That’s exactly what I’m committed to do so we can deliver on President Trump’s winning agenda.”
In another tweet on May 16, he reiterated his support for President Trump’s policies: “I’ve been abundantly clear: I fully support President Trump’s agenda, including historic tax cuts for hardworking Americans. Yet we must seize this rare opportunity to fully deliver major conservative wins.” He highlighted issues such as addressing waste, fraud, and abuse.
Clyde succeeded Doug Collins in Congress and has been an advocate for conservative values throughout his tenure.
