Rep. Andrew Clyde, who represents Georgia’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on February 4 and 5, 2026, addressing issues related to voter identification laws and national identity.
On February 4, Clyde criticized Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s comments about the SAVE America Act by posting: “Chuck Schumer: The SAVE America Act is ‘Jim Crow 2.0.’ Reality: 76% of black Americans support voter ID. Voter ID is not controversial—it just eliminates the Democrat Party’s ability to cheat in our elections.”
The following day, Clyde expressed his stance on Western values and participation in a congressional caucus with the statement: “Western civilization is worth defending. Proud to be a part of the Sharia Free America Caucus.” This post was made on February 5.
Later that same day, Clyde drew a comparison between Democratic leaders’ positions on law enforcement identification requirements and voting regulations: “Just so we’re clear… Chuck Schumer & Hakeem Jeffries support requiring ICE agents to show ID to arrest illegal aliens. But they oppose requiring Americans to show ID to vote.”
Clyde has served as Georgia’s 9th district representative since replacing Doug Collins in 2021. He was born in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada in 1963 and currently resides in Athens at age 59. Since entering Congress, he has secured reelection multiple times; most recently defeating Tambrei Cash in the 2024 general election with nearly seventy percent of the vote.
