Later that day at 20:18 UTC, he addressed legislative efforts concerning Washington D.C., stating, “Given Congress’s constitutional authority over Washington, we must repeal D.C.’s shield law to hold providers accountable for their crimes and to protect women, children, and the precious unborn. Clyde has represented Georgia’s 9th congressional district since 2021. He has consistently won re-election by wide margins in recent cycles; in 2024 he defeated Tambrei Cash with nearly 69% of the vote. In previous elections he prevailed over Michael Ford in 2022 with about 72% of the vote and Devin Pandy in 2020 with nearly 79%.
