Rep. Andrew Clyde, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives and participant in recent general elections, has made several statements on social media concerning immigration enforcement and legislative priorities.
On August 1, 2025, Clyde posted that “ICE has arrested nearly 150,000 illegal aliens since January. The Trump Administration continues to defend the homeland and protect the American people.”
In another post dated August 2, 2025, he stated: “My House Freedom Caucus colleagues and I will keep fighting and winning to deliver fiscal responsibility and conservative policies for the American people in our Republican trifecta.”
Clyde continued his commentary on August 4, 2025, referencing recent car accidents involving individuals he described as “illegal aliens.” He wrote: “In recent days, 2 illegal aliens driving drunk killed 4 Americans in fatal car crashes. Both illegals had previous DUI convictions. Democrats’ sanctuary policies allowed these preventable tragedies to happen. President Trump’s mass deportations will SAVE American lives.”
Clyde represents a district where he has won three consecutive general elections by significant margins: in 2020 against Devin Pandy with nearly 79% of the vote; in 2022 against Michael Ford with over 72%; and most recently in 2024 against Tambrei Cash with almost 69%. These victories have solidified his position within Congress.
His comments come amid ongoing national debates about immigration policy and law enforcement at both state and federal levels.
