Rep. Andrew Clyde, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 9th district, shared his views on various topics through a series of tweets. Clyde, who replaced Doug Collins in 2021, expressed opinions ranging from federal agency leadership to fiscal policy and negotiation tactics.
On May 7, 2025, Rep. Clyde commented on the leadership of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He tweeted “The best thing to happen to the FBI in DECADES: @FBIDirectorKash”. This tweet highlights his support for the current FBI Director.
The following day, May 8, 2025, Clyde addressed concerns about government financial management. He compared the federal government’s financial operations to a business struggling with debt and deficits. In his tweet “Imagine a business drowning in debt, running a massive deficit, and consumed by interest payments.” he criticized ongoing fiscal policies as unsustainable.
Later that day, Clyde made another post referencing negotiation strategies with the phrase “ART OF THE DEAL in action!”. This statement alludes to strategic deal-making approaches without providing specific details.
Andrew Clyde was born in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada in 1963 and now resides in Athens. He holds degrees from the University of Notre Dame and Bethel University and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1999.
