Rep. Andrew Clyde, who represents Georgia’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to comment on immigration policy, government spending, and the early months of President Trump’s administration.
On July 21, 2025, Clyde posted a statement regarding immigration enforcement: “No amnesty means ZERO amnesty under any circumstances whatsoever. Illegal aliens shouldn’t be rewarded for breaking our nation’s laws. They ALL deserve to be DEPORTED.”
The following day, Clyde addressed federal spending with a call for further budget reductions: “American taxpayers demand—and deserve—more DOGE cuts. Congress must continue passing rescissions packages to cut additional woke, wasteful, and weaponized spending.” The use of “DOGE cuts” in this context refers to continued efforts by some members of Congress to advocate for deeper reductions in discretionary government expenditures.
Later on July 22, Clyde commented on the performance of President Trump during his first half-year back in office: “President Trump’s first six months have delivered tremendous wins for the American people. And he’s just getting started. “
Clyde has served as a member of the U.S. House since 2021 after succeeding Doug Collins and currently resides in Athens, Georgia. He was born in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada in 1963 and is now 59 years old. His educational background includes degrees from the University of Notre Dame (BA), Bethel University (BBA), both earned in 1985, and a degree from the University of Georgia obtained in 1999.
