Rep. Andrew Clyde, U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 9th district since 2021, used his social media platform on February 24 and 25, 2026, to comment on President Trump’s State of the Union address and related policy issues.
On February 24, Clyde posted: “President Trump’s State of the Union address is a great opportunity to call on Senator Thune to restore the talking filibuster in order to pass the SAVE America Act.”
The following day, Clyde drew a parallel between national politics and sports by stating: “Under President Trump, America is WINNING—just like our USA Men’s Hockey Team! “ in a tweet published on February 25.
In another post later that day, Clyde outlined specific tax policies he attributed to President Trump’s administration: “President Trump delivered:
No Tax on Tips
No Tax on Overtime
No Tax on Social Security
Every single Democrat voted AGAINST these America First wins.”
Clyde has held his congressional seat since succeeding Doug Collins in 2021 and resides in Athens. He was born in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada in 1963 and is currently 59 years old. In recent elections, Clyde has maintained strong support within his district; he won re-election against Tambrei Cash in 2024 with approximately 69% of the vote, against Michael Ford in 2022 with about 72.4%, and against Devin Pandy in 2020 with nearly 78.6%.
