Rep. Andrew Clyde, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 9th district since 2021, recently shared his perspectives on various political and social issues through a series of tweets. Born in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada in 1963, Clyde has been an active voice in American politics, especially concerning justice and government policies.

On July 9, 2025, Rep. Clyde expressed his views on the legal proceedings involving Douglass Mackey. He stated that “The Biden DOJ prosecuted Douglass Mackey for posting a meme about Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election.” Clyde criticized this action as “utter insanity—and an egregious abuse of power.” He highlighted that the conviction was overturned by the 2nd Circuit Court, calling it a “HUGE VICTORY for justice and free speech.”

Later that day, Clyde addressed concerns regarding assaults on ICE agents. He noted a significant increase in these incidents due to what he described as “The Left’s reckless rhetoric.” According to him, there has been nearly a “700% increase in assaults,” yet he claims Democrat politicians have not condemned these attacks or the rhetoric behind them. He concluded by offering support to ICE agents with “God bless our heroic ICE agents.”

On July 10, 2025, Rep. Clyde discussed financial responsibility related to Medicaid benefits for certain groups of individuals. He argued against taxpayers funding able-bodied adults without dependents who are not working. As part of this stance, he promoted legislative efforts requiring work requirements: “That’s why the One Big Beautiful Bill requires these adults to work 20 hours a week to receive Medicaid benefits.” He asserted that this approach is simply “common sense.”

Andrew Clyde’s educational background includes degrees from the University of Notre Dame and Bethel University obtained in 1985 and further studies at the University of Georgia completed in 1999.
