Rep. Andrew Clyde, a U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 9th district since 2021, recently shared updates on significant national issues via his social media account. Born in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada, Clyde has been active in political discourse and advocacy for policy changes.
On May 12, 2025, Rep. Clyde announced the release of Edan Alexander from captivity in Gaza. “Edan Alexander—believed to be the last living American hostage in Gaza—is FREE.” He expressed gratitude towards President Trump for his leadership in securing Alexander’s release after more than 580 days held by Hamas.
In a post dated May 13, 2025, Rep. Clyde addressed issues related to Medicaid expansion under Obamacare. He stated that “Obamacare drastically expanded Medicaid—exacerbating waste, fraud, and abuse.” Clyde urged Congress to address these problems to better serve vulnerable Americans.
Later on the same day, Rep. Clyde criticized the current reconciliation bill concerning Second Amendment rights. He emphasized that “The current reconciliation bill doesn’t cut it on numerous fronts—including 2A.” Urging action from @WaysandMeansGOP, he called for the removal of unconstitutional taxes and registration requirements for firearms accessories.
