Rep. Andrew Clyde, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 9th district, has been vocal on several pressing issues through recent social media posts. Clyde, who has served in Congress since 2021, replaced Doug Collins and continues to be an active voice on national matters.
On April 22, 2025, Rep. Clyde expressed support for Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth amidst what he describes as efforts by the “Deep State” to undermine Hegseth’s military reforms. “The Deep State is desperately trying to take down and smear @SecDef because they despise his efforts to restore our military and deliver much-needed change to the Pentagon. I stand strongly behind Secretary Hegseth.”
Continuing with a focus on national security, Clyde on April 23, 2025, credited former President Trump with significantly reducing illegal entries at the southern border. He reported a vast decrease in encounters, emphasizing Trump’s impact on safety. “Illegal alien encounters at the southern border are DOWN 94% from last March. President Trump is delivering on his promise to make America SAFE again.”
On April 24, 2025, Clyde addressed immigration policies, critiquing the Democratic approach and contrasting it with Republican preferences. He succinctly delineated the difference in party lines through his post. “Democrats want to PROTECT criminal illegal aliens. Republicans want to DEPORT them.”
Clyde, born in Walkerton, Ontario, and now residing in Athens, Georgia, holds degrees from the University of Notre Dame, Bethel University, and the University of Georgia. He remains a prominent figure in legislative discussions and policy-making.
