Rep. Andrew Clyde, who represents Georgia’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on X (formerly Twitter) in February 2026 addressing legislative efforts and state history.
On February 11, 2026, Clyde criticized Democratic lawmakers, writing: “Democrats are trying to destroy our country with their hypocrisy. But Americans aren’t buying it. PASS THE SAVE AMERICA ACT.”
The following day, after the passage of legislation, he stated: ” PASSED: The SAVE America Act. Requiring photo ID & proof of U.S. citizenship to vote in federal elections is just plain common sense. Republicans are restoring confidence in our elections and safeguarding our Republic. “ This act focuses on implementing new requirements for voting in federal elections.
Later that same day, Clyde commemorated a historic event for Georgia: “On February 12, 1733, James Oglethorpe landed in Savannah and founded what would become our beloved Peach State. Today we celebrate 293 years of history, tradition, and excellence in the greatest state in America. Happy Birthday, Georgia! “
Clyde has represented Georgia’s 9th District since replacing Doug Collins in 2021 and was re-elected multiple times by wide margins over his opponents Tambrei Cash (2024), Michael Ford (2022), and Devin Pandy (2020). Born in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada in 1963, Clyde currently resides in Athens.
