Rep. Andrew Clyde, a U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 9th district since 2021, posted a series of statements on his official Twitter account on July 23 and 24, 2025, addressing government spending, immigration policy, and tax legislation.
On July 23, Clyde called for continued efforts to reduce unnecessary federal expenditures: “Congress must keep cutting waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government. Up next: The Department of Education.”
Later that day, he commented on immigration enforcement with a direct statement: “The only thing illegal aliens deserve is deportation.”
On July 24, Clyde addressed tax policy and gun regulation laws: “The power to tax is the power to DESTROY. Congress must continue gutting the unconstitutional NFA in the next budget reconciliation bill—which is why the Senate Parliamentarian needs to be FIRED ASAP.”
Clyde succeeded Doug Collins in Congress and has served since 2021. He was born in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada in 1963 and currently resides in Athens. Clyde holds degrees from the University of Notre Dame (BA), Bethel University (BBA), and the University of Georgia.
