Rep. Andrew Clyde, a U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 9th district since 2021, posted a series of statements on his social media accounts in mid-February 2026 addressing topics ranging from presidential leadership to border security and public safety.

On February 16, 2026, Clyde marked the federal holiday by stating: “Happy Presidents’ Day to the greatest president of our lifetime: President Donald J. Trump! “

The following day, Clyde criticized Democratic lawmakers regarding government funding negotiations and their impact on national security agencies. On February 17, he wrote: “Democrats are once again playing politics with public servants’ paychecks & Americans’ safety by shutting down the Department of Homeland Security. This selfish stunt puts FEMA, TSA, and the Coast Guard at risk. All because Democrats want to protect illegal aliens & defund ICE.”

Later that same day, Clyde addressed an incident involving a Georgia resident and immigration enforcement policies. He stated: “Yet another Georgian was tragically killed by a criminal illegal alien. Horrific, heartbreaking, and 100% preventable—because this illegal should have NEVER been here. This is exactly why we need MORE deportations & why I fully support ICE’s work to protect the American people.”

Clyde has served in Congress since replacing Doug Collins in 2021 and has consistently won re-election with significant margins over his opponents in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections. Born in Walkerton, Ontario in 1963 and currently residing in Athens, Clyde continues to represent his North Georgia district while maintaining an active presence on social media.
