Rep. Andrew Clyde, a U.S. Congressman who has consistently won re-election since 2020, used his social media platform in August 2025 to express support for former President Donald Trump’s leadership and address recent events in Washington, D.C.
On August 11, 2025, Clyde posted: “Under President Trump’s leadership, we will make D.C. SAFE again! “
The following day, referencing recent violence in the nation’s capital, he wrote: “Last night, Washington, D.C. suffered its 100th homicide of the year.
Our nation’s capital has a crime crisis—but that changes now.
President Trump is taking action to restore law and order in D.C. so the American people can safely enjoy their capital city.” This statement came after reports of increased homicides in Washington, D.C., highlighting concerns about public safety.
Later on August 12, Clyde addressed economic issues with another post: “Wages are growing, energy costs are falling, and inflation remains low and stable.
President Trump’s America First economic agenda is working.”
Clyde represents Georgia’s 9th congressional district and has maintained strong electoral support over multiple cycles. In the most recent general election in 2024, he defeated Tambrei Cash by a significant margin (69% to 31%). Previous victories include defeating Michael Ford in 2022 (72.4% to 27.6%) and Devin Pandy in 2020 (78.6% to 21.4%).
