Rep. Andrew Clyde, U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 9th district, has recently posted a series of statements on his official Twitter account expressing strong opposition to the DIGNIDAD Act and advocating for stricter immigration enforcement.
On April 13, 2026, Clyde wrote: “We will NOT surrender the soul of our nation to illegal foreign invaders. The DIGNIDAD Act must be rejected outright.”
The following day, April 14, he continued his stance with another post: “No amnesty. No amnesty-lite. No DIGNIDAD Act. Only mass deportations.”
Shifting focus on April 15, Clyde commented on tax policy and recent legislative efforts: “Like you, I’m no fan of the IRS or filing taxes. But thanks to President Trump and Republicans’ One Big Beautiful Bill, Georgians are seeing major wins this tax season. My latest op-ed in the Northeast Georgian: https://t.co/EYfXws4rNG”
Clyde has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Doug Collins as representative for Georgia’s 9th district. He was born in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada in 1963 and currently resides in Athens at age 59. Clyde has maintained significant electoral support over multiple election cycles; he won his most recent race in 2024 against Tambrei Cash with approximately 69% of the vote, following victories over Michael Ford in 2022 and Devin Pandy in 2020.
