Rep. Andrew Clyde, a U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 9th district since 2021, recently posted a series of messages on his social media account reflecting on sports achievements, national tragedies, and political leadership.

On February 22, 2026, Clyde celebrated a notable moment in American sports history by posting: “Exactly 46 years later, another Miracle on Ice! Congratulations, Team USA! https://t.co/2VcjAngPXq”.

The following day, Clyde addressed the memory of Laken Riley and other victims affected by crimes involving undocumented immigrants. On February 23, 2026, he wrote: “We will NEVER forget Laken Riley or ANY victim of criminal illegal aliens. Thank you, President Trump, for honoring these innocent souls and their families, as well as for working to ensure no more American lives are stolen from us. God Bless our Angel Families. https://t.co/agDAq0yC8l”.

On February 24, 2026, Clyde commented on the nation’s status under the current administration with: “The State of the Union is safer, stronger, and more prosperous under President Trump’s leadership. https://t.co/GOenaSYgXn”.

Clyde has consistently won re-election in Georgia’s 9th district since first taking office in 2021 after replacing Doug Collins. In recent elections he defeated Tambrei Cash in 2024 with nearly 69% of the vote; Michael Ford in 2022 with over 72%; and Devin Pandy in 2020 with almost 79%. Clyde was born in Walkerton, Ontario in 1963 and currently resides in Athens.
