Rep. Andrew Clyde, a U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 9th district since 2021, recently posted a series of messages on his social media account reflecting on sports achievements, national tragedies, and political leadership.
On February 22, 2026, Clyde celebrated a notable moment in American sports history by posting: “Exactly 46 years later, another Miracle on Ice! Congratulations, Team USA! https://t.co/2VcjAngPXq”.
The following day, Clyde addressed the memory of Laken Riley and other victims affected by crimes involving undocumented immigrants. On February 23, 2026, he wrote: “We will NEVER forget Laken Riley or ANY victim of criminal illegal aliens. Clyde has consistently won re-election in Georgia’s 9th district since first taking office in 2021 after replacing Doug Collins. In recent elections he defeated Tambrei Cash in 2024 with nearly 69% of the vote; Michael Ford in 2022 with over 72%; and Devin Pandy in 2020 with almost 79%. Clyde was born in Walkerton, Ontario in 1963 and currently resides in Athens.
