Rep. Andrew Clyde, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 9th district, has expressed his views on various legislative matters through a series of tweets. Born in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada, and residing in Athens, Clyde has been an active voice since he replaced Doug Collins in 2021.
On June 3, 2025, Rep. Clyde emphasized the urgency of passing budget cuts by stating “We must pass these cuts immediately.” He urged lawmakers to commence work on this initiative.
The following day, June 4, 2025, Clyde addressed a financial measure by noting that “The $9.4 billion rescissions package is just the beginning.” He advocated for the codification of all DOGE cuts by Congress.
On June 5, 2025, Clyde criticized the current administration’s policies regarding national security and immigration. He questioned why “the Biden Administration was allowed to release suspected terrorists into our country…” while President Trump faced restrictions on deporting certain individuals related to terrorism cases.
Clyde graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BA and later obtained a BBA from Bethel University in 1985. In addition to his academic credentials from these institutions, he earned another degree from the University of Georgia in 1999.
