Rep. Andrew Clyde, a U.S. Congressman representing Georgia’s 9th district since 2021, posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing recent security events and legislative developments.
On March 10, 2026, Clyde commended law enforcement for their response to an attempted attack in New York City. He wrote, “Over the weekend, two Islamic terrorists nearly carried out a deadly ISIS-inspired attack in NYC. Without hesitation, NYPD Chief Aaron Edwards jumped into action to detain the terrorists and protect others from danger. American Hero. God Bless our men and women in blue. https://t.co/joHPUAAqEI”.
Later that day, Clyde addressed ongoing Senate proceedings regarding the SAVE America Act. He stated, “The American people don’t want the Senate to hold a messaging vote just to put Democrats “on the record” opposing the SAVE America Act. They expect—and deserve—the Senate to use the talking filibuster so we can actually get this critical bill to President Trump’s desk.”
On March 11, 2026, Clyde continued his advocacy for legislative action by noting progress in the House and urging further movement in the Senate: “It’s been one month since the House passed the SAVE America Act. The Senate needs to get to work. https://t.co/F5SEyKJvuV”.
Clyde has represented Georgia’s 9th District since replacing Doug Collins in 2021 and has secured re-election multiple times with significant margins over his opponents—defeating Tambrei Cash in 2024 with nearly 69% of the vote, Michael Ford in 2022 with over 72%, and Devin Pandy in 2020 with almost 79%. Born in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada in 1963, Clyde currently resides in Athens.
