Reports from the Georgia Department of Education indicate that Lula Elementary School had three Asian students enrolled in the 2024-25 school year, unchanged from the prior year.
During the 2024-25 school year, a total of 372 students were enrolled at Lula Elementary School. Of these, Asian students comprised 1% of the total population, which was the smallest group represented at the school.
The school is part of Hall County School District and its main office is located in Gainesville.
Within Hall County School District’s 35 schools, Flowery Branch High School had the largest number of Asian students in 2024-25, enrolling 38 students.
According to the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 report, over 1.7 million students attended Georgia’s public schools. Elementary grades saw the highest numbers with 787,206 students (45.9%), while middle and high schools enrolled 388,733 (22.7%) and 539,092 (31.4%) students, respectively.
Chronic absenteeism continues to challenge Georgia schools after the pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing 10% or more school days in 2024, as reported by the Georgia Department of Education. In light of this, GaDOE has initiated a statewide response, featuring tools such as a real-time attendance dashboard, a public awareness campaign, and specialized support for high-need districts to improve attendance rates.
In 2025, state lawmakers revised school attendance regulations, prohibiting expulsions based solely on absenteeism. The legislation also adds additional reporting standards and matches state laws with programs allowing students to complete diplomas by alternative methods.
By 2026, Georgia reported a student-to-teacher ratio of about 14:1, which surpasses the national ratio of 15:1.
