The Atlanta Dream has entered into a multi-year partnership with Georgia Power, the utility company announced Wednesday. The collaboration aims to strengthen community impact initiatives and support youth engagement throughout Georgia.

Georgia Power recently served as the presenting partner for an Atlanta Dream home game at Gateway Center Arena, which honored the company’s workforce. The event coincided with Georgia Power’s Generation Appreciation Month in August, recognizing employees who maintain energy services during periods of high demand.

“Georgia Power is more than a utility provider, they’re a cornerstone of the Georgia community,” said Laila Brock, Sr. Vice President, Strategic Partnerships & Community Impact for the Atlanta Dream. “We’re honored to align with a brand that shares our passion for service, innovation, and celebrating the people who power progress across our state.”

As part of the ongoing partnership, more than 75 young girls participated in game day experiences through Georgia Power’s Power Her Dreams initiative. The program focuses on empowering girls across Georgia and included members from local STEM organizations and youth groups attending their first professional basketball game.

“Our partnership with the Atlanta Dream exemplifies our commitment to strength, service and resilience, which reflects the spirit of our workforce and the communities we serve,” said Lindsay Hill, senior vice president of human resources at Georgia Power. “At Georgia Power, we recognize the importance of early engagement with our state’s youth to build the workforce of tomorrow.  This partnership is part of that engagement, and gives us another platform to celebrate the dedication of our workforce and drive positive impact across the state through innovative training and education programs to build a brighter, more resilient future for all Georgians.”

During Generation Appreciation Month, Georgia Power highlighted career opportunities within its generation operations while working alongside the Atlanta Dream to promote shared values through community events and fan outreach.

The Atlanta Dream is currently the only WNBA franchise in the Southeast region. Established in 2008, it plays home games at Gateway Center Arena @ College Park and has reached three WNBA finals since its inception.

Georgia Power serves nearly all counties in Georgia except four out of 159 counties. The company provides energy from various sources including nuclear, coal, natural gas, solar, hydroelectricity, and wind. It maintains rates below national averages and has been recognized by J.D. Power for customer satisfaction (https://www.georgiapower.com/).
