The Atlanta Falcons are holding their rookie minicamp this weekend at the team’s facility in Flowery Branch, according to a May 8 announcement.
The event brings together new talent as the team evaluates its latest draft picks and potential additions. Alongside six drafted rookies and 14 undrafted free agents who have reached agreements with the organization, the Falcons will also host 23 tryout players over the course of the weekend. Among these participants, two are veteran tryouts.
Three current members of the Falcons roster—tight end Josh Simons, cornerback AJ Woods, and linebacker Malik Verdon—will also take part in activities during rookie minicamp. The list of participating tryout players was released by the team.
An editor’s note stated that veteran offensive tackle Brandon Walton was added to the roster on Saturday, increasing the total number of tryout players to 24 for this weekend.
The Atlanta Falcons compete in the National Football League’s NFC South division and are based in Atlanta, Georgia. The franchise began as an expansion team in 1965 and has advanced to the Super Bowl twice—in 1998 and again in 2016—according to the official website.
