The Atlanta Falcons have announced the promotion of four officers as part of a reorganization aimed at improving efficiency and strengthening leadership within the organization. The changes were made by Greg Beadles, who recently became President and CEO.
Shannon Joyner has been promoted from Vice President of Marketing to Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer. Nick Brown, previously Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at AMB Sports and Entertainment, will now serve as Atlanta Falcons Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer. Spencer Treadwell moves from Vice President, Operations to Senior Vice President, Operations and Special Projects. Brandon Ruth advances from Senior Director of Operations to Vice President, Team Operations.
“Over the past several months, we have evaluated every aspect of our business operations to identify ways to maximize efficiency and alignment across our business,” said Beadles. “I’m thrilled to announce the promotion of Shannon, Nick, Spencer and Brandon. Our organization has benefitted greatly by having each of them here, not only as dedicated associates, but as outstanding people and leaders who put our values in action. They have my full confidence and support as they step into their new roles.”
Joyner joined the Falcons in 2018 as director of marketing and has led brand marketing efforts focused on fan engagement, ticket sales, and corporate partnerships. He has overseen initiatives such as the Dirty Birds Kickoff Rally and played a key role in the club’s participation in the NFL Global Markets Program in Germany.
Brown started with AMB Sports and Entertainment in 2018 providing legal support across its businesses. In his new role he will oversee human resources and security for the Falcons while continuing his legal duties.
Treadwell began with the organization as an intern in 1995 before joining the operations team three years later. He has managed operations at IBM Performance Field in Flowery Branch, Georgia—a facility central to team activities—and contributed to operational planning for Mercedes-Benz Stadium events. His new responsibilities include overseeing renovations at IBM Performance Field and helping develop a training ground for NWSL Atlanta 2028.
Ruth joined full-time in 2013 on the live events team before moving into operations roles over ten years. He manages day-to-day activities at IBM Performance Field including maintenance and logistics for team travel—a responsibility that earned him recognition as NFL Travel Director of the Year in 2022.
The Atlanta Falcons are based in Atlanta, Georgia according to their official website. The franchise was founded as an expansion team in 1965 and competes in the National Football League’s NFC South Division with Super Bowl appearances in both 1998 and 2016 and Freddie the Falcon serves as mascot.
