The Atlanta Falcons announced on Mar. 12 the signing of linebacker Christian Harris.
Harris joins the Falcons after four seasons with the Houston Texans, where he was drafted in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. During his rookie contract, Harris started 27 games and recorded four sacks and 206 total tackles, including 14 tackles for loss. He also registered seven quarterback hits, forced two fumbles, and made one interception.
One of Harris’s most memorable performances came during the Wild Card Round of the 2023 postseason when he intercepted Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco and returned it for a touchdown. On the following drive, he sacked Flacco on fourth down. This achievement made him the first player since J.J. Watt in 2011 to record both a sack and an interception returned for a touchdown in a playoff game.
“Christian is one of the fastest linebackers that I’ve had a chance to work with,” DeMeco Ryans said of Harris in 2024. “Very explosive, instinctive player.”
