In 2025, legislators in Georgia passed a bill revising attendance policies, prohibiting expulsions based solely on absenteeism. This legislation now also requires additional reporting and supports pathways for students to earn diplomas through alternative means.
By 2026, Georgia’s average student-to-teacher ratio was about 14:1, which remains more favorable than the national average of 15:1.
