Today, Congressman Andrew Clyde of Georgia’s Ninth District announced the opening of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge. This competition invites middle and high school students to design original apps, showcasing their creativity and coding skills. The submission portal is open until October 30th, 2025.
Clyde emphasized the value of the competition: “The Congressional App Challenge provides an incredible opportunity for students of all backgrounds to learn valuable skills and display their creativity on the national stage.” He encouraged students in his district to participate in order to explore and excel in coding, technology, and innovation.
The Congressional App Challenge began in 2014 as an official computer science competition under the U.S. House of Representatives. It offers students a chance to gain national recognition by creating their own apps.
Participants can enter individually or in teams of up to four members. Winners may have their apps displayed at the U.S. Capitol and featured on the U.S. House of Representatives’ website. They will also be invited to attend the #HouseOfCode celebration on Capitol Hill.
Further information on rules and guidelines is available on Rep. Clyde’s website and the Congressional App Challenge’s website.
