Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson set a new franchise record for yards from scrimmage in the 2025 season, finishing with 2,298 yards. This total led all NFL players and is the 12th highest single-season mark in league history.
Robinson, who is 23 years old, became only the third player in Falcons history to lead the NFL in this category. The previous two were William Andrews in 1981 and Julio Jones in 2015. His achievements earned him a second consecutive Pro Bowl nomination and his first All-Pro selection by The Associated Press.
Tyler Allgeier also contributed significantly to the team’s running game, leading Atlanta with eight rushing touchdowns compared to Robinson’s seven. Allgeier was drafted by Atlanta in 2022 and had a standout rookie year but has since taken on more of a secondary role after Robinson was selected as a first-round pick in 2023.
Looking ahead to the 2026 season, several running backs remain under contract: Bijan Robinson, Nathan Carter, and Carlos Washington Jr., while Tyler Allgeier is set to become a free agent. When asked about his future following the Falcons’ Week 18 win over the New Orleans Saints, Allgeier said: “We’ll see. I don’t know. That’s (up to) the front office, I guess. It’s my first time being a free agent, so it should be very interesting what happens.”
Allgeier added: “I always had my eyes on being the starter. Obviously, when we had B come in, that kind of diminished it. But I think I always had the mindset of being a starter. … We’ve trained ourselves to be a starter, so that’s the goal, but who knows? We’ll see if we put enough film (together) to be able to say that.”
The Falcons are based in Atlanta, Georgia and compete in the National Football League’s NFC South Division as an expansion franchise established in 1965 according to their official website. The team has reached the Super Bowl twice—in 1998 and again in 2016 as noted on their official site. Freddie the Falcon serves as their mascot.
