Wide receiver Drake London will remain with the Atlanta Falcons through at least the 2026 season after the team exercised his fifth-year option. This decision follows London’s impressive performance in the 2024 season, where he recorded over 1,000 receiving yards for the first time in his career.
Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot praised London’s competitive nature, stating, “We want dudes that when we lose, they’re angry and they’re not OK, and they don’t sleep well when we’re losing. That’s the kind of guy he is.” Fontenot emphasized that London’s dedication aligns with what the Falcons seek in their players.
London’s performance last season included 100 receptions for 1,271 yards—ranking fourth among NFL receivers—and a team-high nine touchdown catches. Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson described London as an “unbelievable player” and highlighted his significant role within the organization.
Robinson joined the Falcons in 2024 and expressed admiration for London’s achievements during their first year together. Meanwhile, TJ Yates, who previously coached London as wide receivers coach from 2022-23 before becoming quarterbacks coach, noted London’s growth both on and off the field. Yates remarked on London’s development into a team leader and acknowledged his hard work and character.
Ike Hilliard, London’s current position coach, commended his professional approach to daily practice. Hilliard stated that London is committed to elevating his game further: “It’s business-like; he’s all ball…we’re looking for more from him now.”
The Falcons’ decision to extend London’s contract reflects their confidence in his abilities and potential contributions to the team’s future success.
