The Atlanta Falcons have announced the signing of undrafted free agent center Michael Gonzalez. Gonzalez, who played college football at the University of Louisville, started every game at left guard for the Cardinals over the last two seasons. The Falcons have a history of training players on the interior of their offensive line and have identified Gonzalez as a prospect capable of transitioning to center.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 305 pounds, Gonzalez appeared in 51 games for Louisville over four years. During his last two seasons, he contributed to the team averaging more than 175 rushing yards per game. Known as an effective pass blocker, Gonzalez is expected to benefit from development under offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford.
This signing occurs as Ryan Neuzil remains part of the Falcons’ roster. Neuzil joined Atlanta in 2021 as an undrafted free agent and started eight games in 2024, during which Atlanta went 5-3 and averaged 122 rushing yards and 24 points per game.
In a related move, the Falcons have released offensive lineman Joey Fisher.
The NFL’s offseason program entered Phase 2 on Monday, allowing veterans to begin on-field workouts. Organized team activities will follow before mandatory minicamp starts on June 9.
