The Atlanta Falcons reported that four starters missed Thursday’s practice due to various reasons. Jalon Walker (groin), Billy Bowman Jr. (hamstring), Jake Matthews (ankle), and Ray-Ray McCloud (not injury related) were listed as non-participants. The team had not practiced on Wednesday, so that day’s injury report was an estimate.
Ray-Ray McCloud’s absence was a new addition to the report. He did not play in Monday night’s win against the Buffalo Bills. Head coach Raheem Morris stated after the game that it was a coaching decision to keep McCloud out. Thursday’s report cited “not injury related — other” as the reason, which the league defines as a player being held out for reasons unrelated to physical injury.
Safety Jordan Fuller returned to practice after being on injured reserve with a knee injury. He now joins Ta’Quon Graham in a 21-day window during which the Falcons can activate them to the main roster. Graham is in his second week of this window, while Fuller’s begins with his return to practice.
Other players listed as full participants in Thursday’s practice were Leonard Floyd (illness), LaCale London (triceps), and Ta’Quon Graham (calf). Darnell Mooney (hamstring) and Feleipe Franks (calf) were limited participants. Clark Phillips III (triceps/illness) also did not participate.
The Falcons will continue to monitor their roster as they prepare for their next game.
