Gainesville-Hall County Metro has been named the top small metro area for Best Business Climate by Business Facilities magazine in its 2025 Annual Rankings Report. The report highlights cities and metropolitan areas across more than 60 categories important to companies considering relocation or expansion.

Business Facilities is a publication that provides news and analysis for professionals involved in site selection decisions. Its annual rankings have been used as a resource by these professionals for over twenty years.

According to the latest report, the top five small metros recognized for their business climate are Gainesville, Georgia; St. George, Utah; Idaho Falls, Idaho; Bend/Redmond, Oregon; and Midland, Texas.

The rankings cover various aspects including business climate, tech talent, corporate headquarters presence, and manufacturing among others.
