Hall County Government and the City of Gainesville have partnered with the Georgia Mountain Food Bank to set up food collection sites. This effort aims to address the gap in SNAP benefits that followed the recent federal government shutdown.
The food collection sites will be available throughout Hall County and Gainesville. The Georgia Mountain Food Bank will handle distribution of collected items. More information, including specific locations and a list of needed items, is expected by Friday, Nov. 7.
For questions about the food drive, residents can contact Hall County Government or the City of Gainesville via their official email addresses. Inquiries regarding food distribution should be directed to the Georgia Mountain Food Bank at 770-534-4111.
Community members looking for additional food resources, such as local pantries, are encouraged to visit the Georgia Department of Community Affairs website.
