Kennesaw State defeats Mercer 12-9 as Josh Gibbs contributes two hits

At 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, Kennesaw State, featuring former Forsyth Central High School star Josh Gibbs, earned a 12-9 victory over the Mercer Bears in an NCAA Division I baseball game.

S. Walter Kelly Sr. Memorial Field was the site of the contest, marking the teams’ second meeting this season. In their earlier matchup on Tuesday, March 31, the Owls fell to the Bears 14-4.

Gibbs finished with two hits in four at-bats, scored once, tallied two RBI, drew a walk and struck out once.

The Owls are set to return to S. Walter Kelly Sr. Memorial Field on Friday, April 17, to take on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.
