After four years of quarterback instability, the Atlanta Falcons are hopeful that Michael Penix Jr. will bring consistency to the team. Former franchise quarterback Michael Vick shares this optimism, predicting a strong season for Penix in 2025.

“I think this is gonna be an amazing season for him,” Vick stated on the Atlanta Falcons Podcast Network. He noted improvements in Penix’s performance during practices, observing that “everything has slowed down.”

Vick attended Atlanta’s fourth OTA practice, where he interacted with players and coaches, including head coach Raheem Morris. As Norfolk State’s new head coach, Vick observed Morris manage a scuffle during practice and expressed familiarity with the potential of the current Falcons squad.

Vick drew parallels between his former team and the present lineup. He highlighted running back Bijan Robinson and wide receiver Drake London as key players who could lead to a breakout season for the Falcons.

Reflecting on his time with the Falcons, Vick compared the current team’s offensive potential to that of his era when they were top performers in rushing offense from 2004-06 and reached the NFC Championship Game in 2004.

The current offensive trio of Penix, Robinson, and London have shown promise early on by achieving significant milestones together in their third game as starters.

Since drafting Kyle Pitts in 2021, Atlanta has been assembling a talented offense but needed a capable quarterback to maximize its potential. After observing Penix’s capabilities firsthand, Vick believes he could be that player for the Falcons.

“He threw a couple touchdown passes today,” said Vick. “Good reads, moved well in the pocket…these guys are gonna really do some special things this year.”
