On Tuesday, April 15, former North Forsyth High School standout Matthew Gist’s current college team, the SIUE Cougars, lost 17-6 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Illinois Fighting Illini.

The game took place at Illinois Field. This was their first matchup against the Fighting Illini this season.

The Cougars’ next game is scheduled for Thursday, April 17 at 6 p.m. at Roy E. Lee Field at Simmons Baseball Complex against Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles.
