Congressman Andrew Clyde has announced the 2025 Academy Connect webinar, which aims to provide information for students and families in Georgia’s Ninth District about the five U.S. Service Academies and the congressional nomination process.
“One of the greatest honors of serving the Ninth District in Congress is the opportunity to nominate Northeast Georgian students to our nation’s prestigious military academies. I highly encourage all students who are interested in receiving a congressional nomination to attend our Academy Connect webinar to gain beneficial insight into both the application and nomination process,” said Clyde.
Each year, Rep. Clyde nominates eligible candidates for appointment to four service academies: the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point. The fifth academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, does not require a congressional nomination.
The one-hour online event will take place on Thursday, August 21st, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Students, parents, and school staff can participate by registering via email by Tuesday, August 19th. The deadline for students seeking a nomination from Rep. Clyde is Friday, November 7th at 5:00 PM.
Additional details and application materials are available on Rep. Clyde’s website.
Rep. Clyde has held his seat since winning elections in recent years with significant margins over his opponents—defeating Tambrei Cash in 2024 with 69% of the vote; Michael Ford in 2022 with 72.4%; and Devin Pandy in 2020 with nearly 79%.
