Rep. Andrew Clyde, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 9th district since 2021, recently shared his perspectives on several issues through social media posts. His comments touch on topics including immigration policies and Second Amendment rights.

On June 16, 2025, Clyde criticized the current administration’s handling of immigration. He stated “The Biden-Harris Administration flooded our country with millions of illegal aliens.” He further alleged that Democratic leaders have created “safe havens” for these individuals, which he claims puts Americans at risk. Clyde called for the deportation of illegal immigrants and an end to sanctuary cities and states.

In another post dated June 17, 2025, Clyde celebrated a legislative development regarding gun rights, announcing ” MAJOR 2A WIN “ in reference to the Senate Finance Committee’s budget reconciliation bill text. According to him, this bill would restore Second Amendment freedoms by eliminating taxes and registration requirements for certain firearms.

Later that same day, Clyde highlighted a change in immigration enforcement under different administrations by posting “Illegal aliens released into the U.S.: May 2024: 64,000 May 2025: 0 All we needed was a new President!” This tweet suggests that he attributes changes in immigration statistics to the leadership shift.

Andrew Clyde is noted for his strong positions on these matters as part of his congressional service. Born in Walkerton, Ontario in 1963 and residing in Athens, he has an academic background from institutions including the University of Notre Dame and Bethel University.
