Rep. Andrew Clyde, who has represented Georgia’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress since 2021, posted a series of statements on social media regarding recent policy developments and legislative actions.
On July 17, 2025, Clyde claimed that “ZERO illegal aliens were released into the U.S. in May and June. All we needed was a new President.”
The following day, he highlighted congressional action on federal spending: ” PASSED: $9 billion rescissions package. Your hard-earned tax dollars have no place funding NPR’s woke propaganda or USAID’s wasteful spending. Yet this is just the beginning. Congress must codify ALL of President Trump and DOGE’s cuts.” This statement references efforts to reduce federal expenditures by targeting specific programs.
Later on July 18, Clyde commented on trade policy under the Trump administration: “Under the Trump Administration, the days of the U.S. being disadvantaged by our trading partners are over. President Trump is leveling the playing field for American workers and manufacturers.”
Clyde has been a member of Congress since replacing Doug Collins in 2021 and currently resides in Athens, Georgia. Born in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada in 1963, he earned degrees from both Notre Dame and Bethel University in 1985 and later graduated from the University of Georgia in 1999.
