Rep. Andrew Clyde, serving Georgia’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress since 2021, expressed concerns on April 25 over judicial intervention in voter registration laws. Clyde, who has been in office since replacing Doug Collins, voiced his opinions strongly on social media.
On April 25, Clyde criticized a judicial ruling opposing requirements for photo ID and proof of U.S. citizenship for voter registration. He claimed, “More than 80% of Americans support requiring photo ID to vote and proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote. Yet an activist judge just BLOCKED President Trump’s efforts to require proof of citizenship for voter registration. She deserves to be IMPEACHED.”
Later the same day, Clyde commented on the arrest of Wisconsin Judge Hannah Dugan. Clyde, focused on law enforcement actions, remarked, “Last week, Wisconsin Judge Hannah Dugan shielded an illegal alien from ICE agents. Today, the FBI arrested her on charges of obstruction. THIS IS HOW IT’S DONE. “
On April 28, Clyde praised former President Trump’s accomplishments in contrast to President Joe Biden’s tenure. He stated, “In less than 100 days, President Trump has accomplished more than Joe Biden did in four years.”
Andrew Clyde was born in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada in 1963 and currently resides in Athens. He completed his education with degrees from both the University of Notre Dame and the University of Georgia.
