Senator Greg Dolezal, a Republican representing Georgia’s 27th Senate District since 2019, has posted a series of statements on social media addressing terrorism, party politics, and legal standards in Georgia.

On March 10, 2026, Dolezal criticized media coverage of a recent attack in New York City. He wrote: “CNN describing an ISIS inspired terror attack like it’s the opening scene of a coming-of-age movie:

‘Two teenagers enjoying a warm day in New York…’

They weren’t sightseeing.
They were throwing TATP bombs at the feet of NYPD.” (March 10, 2026)

Later that day, Dolezal commented on the direction of the Republican Party. He stated: “The GOP has become a party that campaigns like President Trump and governs like Mitt Romney.

It’s a problem.

We need leaders who are willing to campaign and govern the same way, fearlessly for America.” (March 10, 2026)

On March 11, 2026, Dolezal addressed the topic of Sharia Law in Georgia. He posted: “Sharia Law is incompatible with the US Constitution and Georgia law.

It must be banned 100% from our state. There will be no Sharia Tribunals or parallel legal system in our state.

American laws for American courts.” (March 11, 2026)

Dolezal was elected to his seat in the Georgia State Senate in 2019 after replacing Michael Williams as senator for District 27.
