Senator Greg Dolezal, a Republican representing Georgia’s 27th Senate District since 2019, has used his social media platform to highlight his campaign for Lieutenant Governor and address recent controversies. In a series of posts published on May 14 and May 15, Dolezal promoted his legislative record and responded to criticism regarding his remarks about international comparisons.
On May 14, Dolezal reiterated his candidacy in the upcoming election: “ Election Day is May 19th I’m proud to run on my proven record as the ONE true conservative fighter for Georgia Lt. Governor. I’d be honored to earn your vote.”
Later that day, he addressed a controversy involving comments he made about other countries: “A reporter clutched pearls at my point that all countries aren’t created equally and implied it was racist. Not apologizing, not backing down. All countries are not created equal. If you prefer living in China or Afghanistan, leave. Don’t shame me for stating the obvious.” This statement followed media scrutiny over his views on national differences.
On May 15, Dolezal summarized legislative achievements from the past year: “We passed three big wins this year: suspended the gas tax, cut income taxes for the fourth year in a row, and capped property taxes. It’s a strong start — and as Lt. Governor, I’m putting these tax relief fights into overdrive.”
Dolezal has served in the Georgia State Senate since 2019 after succeeding Michael Williams as senator for District 27.
