The future of healthcare in Lumpkin County and the anchor of the Gateway Corridor is now officially under construction. Hundreds of people, community leaders, healthcare workers and project members gathered this morning to break and bless the ground at the future campus of Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) Lumpkin.
The Georgia Automobile Dealers Association recently donated $100,000 to the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Foundation in support of students pursuing a career in the automotive industry. As a part of the gift, a scholarship program was established for students enrolled in automotive technology, auto collision, and other automotive-related programs at TCSG colleges like Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC).

Cumming tennis player Blake Hilsen won 2,235 points playing doubles tournaments in the junior Boys’ 16 category of the United States Tennis Association by the week ending Mar. 26.

In partnership with the Butts County Chamber of Commerce, the Butts County Development Authority, the Butts County School System and local business and industry partners, Southern Crescent Technical College held a ribbon cutting on Monday, June 6, 2022 for the reopening of the welding lab located at Jackson High School. This ribbon cutting also kicked off a new welding class with ten students in attendance.
