OPINION: President Trump is a champion for women-owned businesses

My dream to start a small business began in high school.  In the small town of Waycross, I worked for a family-owned department store and discovered my passion for combining fashion and business.  For me, opening a small business was a way to contribute to the American Dream, and now, I have owned and operated my own business for nearly two decades.

A businessman himself, President Trump has used his time in the Oval Office to fight for small business owners across our nation. As noted during the first presidential debate, which President Trump won overwhelmingly, he built one of the strongest economies in the world once, and he’s going to do it again. Before the economy was artificially interrupted, Georgia was thriving. During the first three years of President Trump’s presidency, state business formation jumped an astounding 27.3 percent.

President Trump’s economic leadership didn’t just impact businesses, it also gave underprivileged communities new hope.  Lifting hundreds of thousands of low-income Georgians out of poverty and off of food stamps, President Trump undeniably empowered communities across the state of Georgia.

While President Trump is reigniting America as the land of vast opportunity, Joe Biden is serving as an empty vessel for the radical left – this was once again proven during the debate as Joe Biden repeatedly professed his support for radical left’s extreme policies. Do not forget that he has recently proposed more than $9.37 trillion in new spending at the expense of taxpayers.

For taxpayers like us, that means lower wages and fewer job opportunities.   While he was Vice President, Joe Biden oversaw the worst economic “recovery” since the Great Depression.  With a running mate proposing higher taxes and fewer domestic jobs, a Biden-Harris “recovery” would mean irreparable damage for generations to come.

Meanwhile, President Trump is using every tool at his disposal to put more money in the pockets of hardworking Americans as the economy opens back up for business.  As our nation recovers, the U.S. added back an incredible 9.3 million jobs in the past three months.  Among small businesses, this growth has been substation.  Directed by President Trump, the Paycheck Protection Program has protected a total of 51 million jobs at over 5 million businesses.

In just a few months, my shop will celebrate its 20th anniversary.  That is twenty years of hard work, dedication, and American spirit.  For me, this election is consequential.  My dream of becoming a small business owner has come true, but I now I get to choose what future my business has.  Under candidate Biden, a “recovery” would put shops like mine out of business.  But, by voting for four more years of President Trump, I can ensure that businesses in Georgia will not only survive but continue to thrive.
