Northside Hospital Forsyth issued the following announcement on July 22.
On July 16, a new H.E.A.R.T.strings Butterfly Garden opened in an outdoor space at the Northside Hospital Atlanta Women's Center.
The outdoor garden features seating, butterfly-friendly plants, beautiful and enchanting lighting, and a special “tiny door” created by Tiny Doors ATL. This sacred and special place will provide an area of respite for patients’ family members when needed. It will also be available for employees who may need a quiet place to sit.
The H.E.A.R.T.strings Perinatal Palliative Care Program cares for families that have been given a life-limiting diagnosis for their unborn child and have made the decision to continue their pregnancy. This particular area of the Women's Center is where many of the H.E.A.R.T.strings families are discharged from the hospital. The garden area was designed to provide some beauty and peace during their discharge process.
Be sure to take a moment to visit the garden area the next time you’re on campus.
