Forsyth County Board of Commissioners Recognize Aug. 31 as Overdose Awareness Day

Meet

County of Forsyth issued the following announcement on August 20.

According to the CDC, an average of 256 people-per-day died from an overdose in 2020, which was an annual increase of 30%.

To recognize the impact of addiction and drug overdose in our communities, the Board of Commissioners proclaimed Aug. 31 as OVERDOSE AWARENESS DAY in Forsyth County.

Community members who lost loved ones spoke at the presentation on the need to raise awareness in order to combat stigma and educate our community about prescription overdose prevention.
