Brenau welcomes students to campus during move-in

Hundreds of students and family members moved into Brenau University dormitories on Wednesday, Aug. 24, and Thursday, Aug. 25, as the students began their Brenau experience with Fall Orientation.

New students who needed to register for classes arrived on Wednesday, and students who participated in the ROAR registration event over the summer moved in on Thursday. Students and their families started at the Trustee Library, getting room assignments and information from Admissions and Student Services, then began unpacking at Crudup and Van Hoose halls. Student-athletes offered a helping hand in moving personal belongings from cars in the loading zone on Prior Street to the dorms. Fall Orientation began Thursday afternoon.

Ar’Chardonnay Morgan of Sandersville moved into Crudup Hall on Wednesday with the help of her mom and sister. She plans to “study and work hard” while pursuing her biology degree.

Her mother, Barbara Brown, said she’ll miss her daughter.

“My feelings are just so mixed,” she said. “But, I want her to get the great education that she deserves. I want her to study hard and be whatever she wants to be.”

Returning students move in on Saturday, Aug. 27, and Sunday, Aug. 28. Some students, including leaders and athletes, arrived earlier in August. The first day of class for the traditional fall semester is Monday, Aug. 29.
