According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, over 60 million women (44%) in the United States are living with some form of heart disease. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the U.S. and can affect women at any age.

Cardiologist Dr. An Young of Northside Hospital Heart Institute discusses the signs, symptoms and risk factors of heart disease, and the steps to protect your health and seek proper treatment if you need it.

Northside Hospital Heart Institute has one of the most comprehensive cardiovascular programs in Georgia. Our specialists work hand-in-hand to improve your overall heart and vascular health, leading to enhanced overall wellness. Our board-certified cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, electrophysiologists, and vascular surgeons — together with a team of specially trained cardiovascular nurses and technologists — deliver more than diagnosis and treatment expertise.

Northside Hospital 101 is a series of interviews with Northside Hospital's expert physicians to break down complex medical terms and procedures.
