Census Bureau: 5.7% of people in Forsyth County identified as multiracial in 2021

Of the 245,754 citizens living in Forsyth County in 2021, 94.3% said they were only one race, while 5.7% said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in June.

The most prevalent racial group among citizens in Forsyth County who reported being of a single race in 2021 was white, comprising 72.6% or 178,522 individuals. Following them, Asian accounted for 15.4% and totaled 37,783 individuals.

The percentage of multiracial residents in Forsyth County is 0.9% higher than the state average, which stands at 4.8%.
